Glo Start Operations In Ghana

Nigeria telecom giant, Glo Mobile, has launched its commercial operations in Ghana, promising to deliver unparallel services to Ghanaians across the voice and data packages.

Speaking to newsmen at the launching on Sunday, Glo Mobile Ghana's Chief Operating Officer CEO, George Andah, vowed the company ,which got its license in 2008, would address the huge gap in telecommunications services in the country by offering world-class innovative products and services, which would improve the way the people of Ghana live and work.
"We are pleased to inform you that the wait is over,” he said. “Now, we are ready to provide Ghana with the most-modern and reliable telecommunications services that you have not only been yearning for, but which you truly deserve. We remain as committed as ever to our vision to build the biggest and best telecommunication network in Africa."
The launch comes after series of postponements that got Glo Mobile fined a sum of $200,000 for failing to meet an April 20, 2012 deadline.
With the launch, people can start redeeming their reserved numbers and be able to make calls on the network, which is rolling out services on the Number Code 023 and can be experienced in every major town in Ghana.
Since getting its license, Glo Mobile Ghana has been working to build a modern and solid telecommunications infrastructure. It has in the process built 1,400 base stations, making it the second largest network in the country and there are plans to scale this up to 2,300 by the end of the year.
Glo has invested $750 million in installing world-class network equipment, establishing 25 Glo World Call Centres nationwide and hiring 600 Ghanaians, among other things. Glo has also landed its Glo One submarine cable to make the network one of the best.
The telecommunications company is visible with its adverts and corporate social responsibility projects in addition to the title sponsor for Ghana’s Premier football league and also headline sponsor of the senior national football team, the Black Stars. Now the question is "Can Glo provide the service we are expecting of them?".........let see what happens....:-)
